Jorge Ramos says he doesn't recognize the US. You can read about him here:
Like so many other people, from so-called "journalists" to social commentators, Jorge has NEVER known the US. If he had, he would not be so confused now.
He says he was censored in Mexico, but not here. In this he is delusion. If he wasn't censored, it was because he was mouthing the lies his US employers wanted him to say. If he was too ignorant to realize that, we never should have listened to him in the first place. I know I didn't.
As far as the other refugees who received such "wonderful" opportunities, I think he missed the boat on that, too. The US let them in for various reasons, but I doubt it was to give them "opportunities". Often it was to bust unions, or to keep freed slaves from getting jobs, or to act as a buffer against rebellious Indians whom the US was dispossessing, starving, and/or killing, or to provide cheap labor to keep previous generations of immigrants from getting too comfortable and uppity.
Jorge, our streets are NOT paved with gold. They never were. They're held together with mortar mixed with the blood, sweat, and tears of immigrants like you who came here seeking opportunity but didn't find it. Immigrants like my grandparents, whose grandchildren are now being dispossessed and starved by corporate CEOs who want to replace us with new generations of cheap labor.
Wake up, Jorge. You drank the Kool-Aid, but now you say you didn't know it was poison? What kind of a "journalist" are you, anyway? Clearly not a very perceptive one.
