Here is what I consider to be the BS statement of the year (so far):
Trump’s pre-election suggestion that the families of terrorists were fair game notwithstanding, there is no reason to believe that the raid deliberately targeted civilians or the Awlaki child. In the fog of war, civilian deaths do occur.

Really? Seals are highly trained. I think they can tell the difference between an 8 year old girl and an actual threat.
We were told that the raid on Osama bin Laden was intended to capture him. Recent statements have revealed the true goal of the mission was to kill him.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the initial al-Awlaki raid was intended to kill him; the second raid was intended to kill his son; and this latest raid was intended to kill his daughter and other members of his family.
Special Forces do not "wage war" in the conventional sense. They don't follow the rules (e.g., the Geneva Convention). They kill people they are tasked to kill.
And like I said, they are highly trained, the best of the best ... so I find it difficult to believe they commit so many "mistakes".
I have no sympathy for Muslim extremists, but genocide is not the way the US should be dealing with them.
