It Only Costs $5 Per Year To Save A Life

Now here is an interesting and revealing comparison:

1. About $5 per person a year could avert the crisis of millions of child and maternal deaths in poor nations, according to a new report.

You can read about it @

$5 per year x 7.4 billion people = $37 billion per year

2. The US military budget, which arguably does not save ANY lives, is nearly $600 billion per year.

You think maybe our priorities are all screwed up?

I do. Especially when the majority of that military spending has nothing to do with "defense" and much to do with the expansion of an empire which is at least partly responsible for the crisis of millions of child and maternal deaths in poor nations.
