Demonstrations, Paradoxes, And Suggestions

The past few months have demonstrated at least two things:

(a) It's fairly easy to lock down an entire nation. All you need is a believable pretext (a virus), an apocalyptic prediction from a few "scientists" (even though they were wrong), and a willing MSM completely detached from reality.

(b) It's more difficult (though not impossible) to totally destroy the social fabric of an entire nation by following an eight step process (h/t Jeremy Boreing of the Daily Wire):

  1. Instill fear
  2. Lock people in their houses
  3. Drive tens of millions out of work
  4. Remove the pressure valves: Sports, Concerts, Bars, Theaters, Lunch with Friends
  5. Close the churches
  6. Dehumanize through masking the healthy
  7. Wait
  8. Strike match

The "match" of course was the death of George Floyd.

As I think about these two demonstrations, I am puzzled by three paradoxes:

(a) What Minneapolis police did to George Floyd happens nearly every day in the United States. Why did we wait so long to do anything about it?

(b) What America did to George Floyd we have been doing to millions of people around the world for decades. Why do so few of us realize that, and why are even fewer willing to do anything to stop it?

(c) It is US oligarchs, bank gangsters, corporate CEOs, and their accomplices in the one percent who are responsible for most of this wickness. Why do the so-called "demonstrators" believe attacking local, state, and federal authorities will make a difference if the real powers that be aren't going to change?

I don't have the answers to these questions, but I do have some suggestions:

(a) The current demonstrations appear to be well organized and directed by someone (or more than one entity). Identify them and their true agenda before tearing anything down.

(b) For the last 3+ years we've been treated to Russiagate, the intimidation of General Flynn, the impeachment of Trump, continual attacks on the administration, and now a state of national upheaval - all of which seem to be aimed at derailing the so-called MAGA agenda. Assuming that this campaign is successful, ask yourself what comes after Trump. If the answer is "war", with China, Iran, Russia, or anyone else, will it have been worth the effort?

(c) Many of the current demonstrations have resulted in vandalism. Keep in mind the original Vandals helped cause the eventual collapse of the Roman Empire. When their namesakes do something similar to the USA, what will we become? If you don't know the answer, I suggest you figure it out before it's too late to do anything about it.
