Will Pope Allow Priests To Marry ???

According to this report, the Pope may allow priests to marry to alleviate a shortage:

As the report states, this is not really a new thing:

Today, fewer than 2% of the world’s Catholic priests are married, most of them clergy in the two dozen Eastern Catholic Churches, which are in communion with Rome but follow the Orthodox practice and allow for married priests.

I was brought up in a Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church in Ohio, and the initial parish priest was married. It was due to his influence that I was given a middle name, as it was the custom at the time to NOT do such a thing (neither of my parents had middle names).

If the church is to survive, it needs to change. What it should not do, however, is change in ways that deny the gospels or approve of things the Bible says are abominations.
