Put this together with all the other bad news about our impact on the environment, and you may (like me) come to the conclusion that humanity is the worst thing to ever happen to this planet.
Perhaps there is no easy solution to our biggest problem - too many humans, and not enough anything else. The only apparent workable hard solution is unthinkable, at least so far: the human herd must be culled. Let's all pray it doesn't come to that.
