US Using Polio As A Weapon

There have been plenty of essays and reports such as this one bemoaning the blowback from use of vaccination programs to hunt for Osama bin Laden:

However, no one is drawing the obvious conclusion that Uncle Sam really does not care.

Why doesn't he care?

Because now the children in Pakistan's and Afghanistan's tribal areas will be crippled for life.

Polio in Pakistan and Afghanistan is the new Agent Orange. Once again, Uncle Sam has deployed a type of chemical, biological, and/or radiological weapon that will have devastating consequences for generations ... and has gotten away with it scot-free.

Marcy, you're not being cynical enough.

Update: It appears that Marcy decided to block my comments from appearing on her blog.

And to clarify my comments: I'm not saying that the US introduced the polio virus into SW Asia as a biological weapon. I'm saying that by inducing the local population to refuse to vaccinate their children, the US contributed to the spread of the disease.

If Marcy or anyone else can prove that my comments on this subject are invalid, I would like to hear from them.

Second Update: Apparently following my clarification, Marcy has posted a link to my comments on her blog.

Thanks, Marcy!

Third Update: Take a look at this report about polio in Pakistan. Why is the rate of infection growing? I don't think it can be blamed on failure to vaccinate, since they weren't vaccinating when the rate was lower. Somehow this has to be a function of the war. Take note that the world's highest rates of polio are in Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan, all countries affected by ongoing warfare related to US foreign policy:
