Sign of the Times: Handcuffs in the Second Grade

An elementary school put this second-grade student in handcuffs for misbehaving:

That's not only stupid, it's sick.

In the sixty years since I started elementary school, the American education system has degenerated into a prison system that does precious little to motivate our children to learn, let alone to excel.
