Missing The Big Picture

Here are a few recent energy-related reports which should demonstrate that many people (including policy makers) are missing the big picture when it comes to the availability and cost of energy:

a. In North Rhine-Westphalia, a coal-fired power plant had to be shut down at the weekend because coal was no longer available. Meanwhile, electricity prices are exploding.

b. Billions in investments are to make central Germany the lithium center of Europe. Three industrial companies have founded a new scientific institute in Halle an der Saale that has an unusual plan to restructure Central Germany.

The lithium industry will not GENERATE electricity. It will help convert autos from gas to electric and enable the mass production of energy storage devices. Where the electricity to power these devices will come from is anyone's guess.

c. In the US, natural gas prices are soaring by 30% or more, just in time for winter.

d. And in general, the looming energy crisis is likely to kill people this winter; as in freezing to death. And this is just the beginning.

All the climate change hoopla is avoiding any honest discussion of what will happen when we stop burning fossil fuels. Energy costs impact every facet of the world's economy. In the future energy will be scarce and much more expensive, meaning everything else may be more expensive too.

Get ready for scarcity and hardship, courtesy of the climate change crazies.
