A bit long, but worth the read. Should you not have the time, here's the bottom line:
If the dollar fails, which without a radical change in monetary policy it is set to do, with its gold-backing China expects to not only survive but be able to consolidate Taiwan into its territory with little or no opposition.
But this has less to do with Taiwan than it does with the future of the US, which at this point in time doesn't look very good. If the Ottoman Empire was "the sick man of Europe", the US is rapidly becoming the sick man of the West. I guess this makes "Joe Biden" the perfect symbol of where we're headed.
