Aspirin And COVID

A recent Israeli study looked at whether aspirin would be effective against COVID:

Considering that COVID appears to be a vascular disease which can lead to systemic clotting, I wonder why it took them so long to figure out that aspirin might help.

Now we need to know how these results compare to the alleged benefit from the mRNA vaccines. Any guesses?
