The Two Americas

During the Cold War, I used to compare the programs of Voice of America to those of Radio Moscow. One thing I noticed is that both would describe the same event in different terms (e.g., they're the bad guy, we're the good guy).

The same thing has happened in the US. One side, which controls most of the assets of public and private communication, says one thing; while the other side, which controls very few of such assets, says the exact opposite. It should be possible to work out our differences via the electoral process, but that has proven to be futile. Everything has been weaponized as part of the struggle for power.

My advice to everyone (which I know will be ignored) is to work things out. Millions of lives, as well as the very future of our nation, are at stake. The only way ANYONE can win is if we come out of this better, together.
