Eisenhower's Death Camps

Here is a brief report discussing how General Eisenhower and his gang of thugs murdered at least one million German POWs after WWII:

I have read James Bacque's book Other Losses, and the evidence he provides is quite compelling.

Clearly, most Americans and the rest of the allied nations blamed Germany and the Nazis in particular for the war. It is therefore understandable they wanted to punish the Germans, and Eisenhower's death camps were one of the results.

What is the relevance to today?

Now we have one half of the US population blaming the other half for all our ills, and the rhetoric calling for violent retribution continues to increase. How long until this spills over into reality and Americans punish each other for prior bad acts? Calling for reparations for slavery is one non-violent example of how this issue now manifests itself, but will that be the end? I doubt it.

By the way, the only leading US general who openly opposed what Eisenhower was doing was Patton, and he apparently was murdered to prevent him from coming home and spilling the beans. Considering the mood of the people at the time, I wonder if his potential revelations would have made any difference.
