When Is An Invasion Not An Invasion?

Confusion at the Pentagon, or mutiny?

Speaking at Duke University on the thousands of ground troops sent to the US border with Mexico, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joe Dunford insisted that there are no plans for the troops to ever come in contact with the migrant caravan.

Dunford says the troops, which could number as many as 15,000 according to the administration, are merely there to support the Homeland Security operation, and aren’t intended to carry out any missions on their own.

This [h]ad been a major question in the repeated deployment of troops to the border, as the Posse Comitatus Act is intended to prevent using the military in a law enforcement role, and officials have been very vague on what the troops will actually do.

Dear General Dunce-Ford: Is this a "law enforcement" action or the repelling of an invasion? Shouldn't the President have the last word on this, at least as far as the Executive Branch goes?

And by the way, our recent border enforcement policies have more or less established that the US Constitution does not apply in the border zone:

That being the case, why would the Posse Comitatus Act be a concern? The border per se is not "within the United States".

If a "unitary President" can ignore the Constitution and our laws to protect us overseas and domestically, then why have you suddenly decided not to obey him ... and why pick this particular situation? Why haven't you bitched about the pointless invasion of Iraq, the multitudes killed or displaced for no reason in Libya and Syria, or the millions being starved in Yemen?

You, sir, make no sense at all.

This entire issue makes no sense at all.

  1. Watch this video and then ask yourself why the US military doesn't want to enforce our borders:

If the military does not work for We the People, then we should stop funding them.
