Airglow ???

I'm wondering ... couldn't someone make the planet appear any color they want just by using filters? How do we know whether these are "valid" photos?

I bring this up because every time an unexplained object appears in the ISS camera feed NASA somehow shuts down the feed or otherwise blanks out the image.

Can they be trusted? Who knows.
