The US, on the other hand, has no such capability; at least none we intend to exercise any time soon. Are we that broke?
Or perhaps our failure to return to the moon is mirrored in the failures of our educational system. Three times in a row when I recently went to a fast food restaurant, the staff could not fill my order properly and appeared to be incapable of executing routine tasks (such as making change) without supervisory assistance.
An educational system designed to dumb us down does in fact produce dummies. That is the one US "success" story about which no one can argue.
