A press as deadly as the state

Latest essay by Arthur Silber on the NSA revelations:

His basic contention is that the journalists and publishers who have been aiding Edward Snowden are more beholden to the state than they are to we the people. I have to agree with him.

Thanks to the power of the national security state, we are nowhere near learning the truth about spying or anything else.

Q: The safety of how many spies is worth invading the privacy of billions of people and then lying to them about it?

A: It's a trick question. For almost all of the billions of people on this planet the safety of spies has no value whatsoever. It has value only to our slave masters. That should be obvious to everyone except our mentally impaired Representatives and Senators, most of whom are the sock puppets of said slave masters.
