The dangerous precedents of Detroit

Here is a very good initial explanation of the dangers inherent in what is happening to the nearly bankrupt city of Detroit:

Compare this to my previous blog posts about Detroit on 12/13/2012, 1/25/2013, and 3/16/2013.

What's happening to Detroit may become a model for how the rest of the country will be handled. It's the "shock doctrine" all over again. 9/11 allowed government to throw our justice system under the bus. Now economic disasters like Detroit will allow government to do the same thing with our economic system and taxation structure. Wipe the slate clean, and start all over again; the Constitution and existing contracts be damned. This will be a sweeping revolution unlike anything since 1776, but this time the tyrants will win.

No bankrupt nation ever escaped totalitarianism.

And neither shall we.

And why Detroit? It used to be called "the arsenal of democracy". If you look at the country as a whole, our war-making capability has been destroyed. We no longer have the mines, the steel mills, or the factories to produce the heavy machinery of war. All that's left is the ability to produce the implements of murder, like drones and Hellfire missiles.

First war was made un-winnable. Now we're in the process of making war un-fightable. Soon war shall become unthinkable. War as a means for national liberation, that is.

But the means to kill people will remain; and if anything will become more refined and with more capabilities than at any time in human history.
