Concealing the evidence, again

Here's a story about the Newtown shooting, and the government's refusal to release the crime scene photos:

I have a different concern than the author's. Too often, as is the case here, the public is prevented from from viewing all the available evidence. Whether it be our political assassinations, the OKC bombing, the 9/11 WTC and Pentagon attacks, or the killing of Osama bin Laden, the public only gets to see a sanitized, highly slanted version of "what happened". Since we are the ultimate judge of both what happened and what should be done in response, we need to see the raw evidence.

To do otherwise is to treat us like immature irresponsible children, which I am starting to fear is exactly what we have become.
