'It was my duty to shoot the enemy, and I don’t regret it. My regrets are for the people I couldn’t save: Marines, soldiers, buddies. I’m not naive, and I don’t romanticize war,' he told Texas Monthly. 'The worst moments of my life have come as a SEAL. But I can stand before God with a clear conscience about doing my job.'
I used to think that way when I was in the Army; it's more or less a requirement of the job. But I don't think that way any more.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 KJV
"Lay down his life" for his friends, NOT "kill others" for his friends.
Chris Kyle made his choice, and he had a clear conscience. I personally would not have a clear conscience if my job was killing people. But I do agree with him on one thing: we all make our choices, and we all eventually stand before God to defend them.
[I see that Ron Paul made a similar comment, and it's sad to see that our last voice of reason is no longer respected for his views. Read about it @
