The free exercise thereof

Should a court be allowed to compel a pastor to testify when doing so would violate his or her religious beliefs?

Or is the real issue here that the state is all-powerful and no one has the right to resist it for any reason? If it is, the doctrine of "response to resistance" then gives the state the authority to use any means, including lethal ones, to compel compliance.

Is this what we want?
