It's not the owners of the Bible that matters, it's the
character (or the lack thereof) of the person taking the oath.
And as I have said before (see my 12/12/2012 blog post), Jesus said not to do it that way:
Again,
ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not
forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for
it is God's throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by
Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not
make one hair white or black.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for
whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Matthew 5:33-37 KJV
Like all his predecessors, Obama ad-Dajjal is expected to add the
words “so help me God” to his oath of office, thereby invalidating it. As Jesus said, “whatsoever is more than
these cometh of evil.”
That’s a pretty
good description of Obama ad-Dajjal’s second term, in which attempted gun-grabbing apparently will be the first order of business. Those of you bitterly clinging to guns and religion had better watch out!
By the way, what's with the multiple oaths (public and private)? And why more than one Bible? This is a sacred obligation, not a photo op or a PR stunt.
