But note well it was "investigated" by one of the government's favorite newspapers AND took a while to see the light of day.
Had Wikileaks not been infiltrated and destroyed by the US, we might have learned about this long ago and in greater detail.
One of the functions of a free press is to tell us what is happening and in a timely fashion. Since we have NO free press left in the US, Wikileaks might have served that function. But with Assange in prison and the rest of the group taken down, it looks like that will never happen.
And NO ... we cannot trust the US government or its tools.

I can understand not wanting to publicize operational details of military campaigns. But when they involve war crimes, I don't think they should remain secret. And DEFINITELY someone other than the Pentagon should do the investigation. How about the ICC?
