The Nuclear Energy Disaster

To date, nuclear energy (both military and civilian) has proven to be a disaster.

The US nuked Japan twice, and is itching to do it again ... this time to Iran, Russia, China, and/or North Korea.

The on-going disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear site quite possibly is an extinction level event:

On the other side of the Pacific Ocean, nuclear waste from the Hanford site is leaking freely into the Columbia River:

And even though no one can agree what to do with the spent fuel at every operating reactor site in the US, it continues to be generated in ever greater quantities. Some even want to build more nuclear plants, thereby generating more waste.

If we want to continue living on this planet, we MUST stop our military adventures and START cleaning up our nuclear mess. This is AT LEAST as important as the climate change issue, and perhaps even more so.
