Deliveries By Airship ???

Apparently Amazon wants to deliver packages using an airship as a drone base. You can read about it here:

Something like this was tried before, and it failed (the "flying aircraft carriers" USS Akron and the USS Macon). You can read about it here:

Contrary to popular belief, few airships exploded. The concept was abandoned mainly because too many of them crashed.

It will be interesting to see if modern technology can overcome this problem. Considering the fact that both airship aerodynamics and the behavior of our atmosphere have not changed in the past 100 years, I doubt it.

Amazon's airships will crash, too.
