Suppressing Dissent By Any Means

Not content with the "normal" means of suppressing dissent, this professor thinks the populace should be drugged into submission:

The scenario in which the government forces an immunity booster upon everyone is plausible. And the military has been forcing enhancements like vaccines or “uppers” upon soldiers for a long time. The scenario in which the government forces a morality booster upon everyone is far-fetched. But a strategy like this one could be a way out of this pandemic, a future outbreak or the suffering associated with climate change. That’s why we should be thinking of it now.

Dear Parker - There is nothing "ethical" about what you are proposing. It would be a horrific misuse of government power.

About that "suffering associated with climate change" - don't you think We the People should have a say in how to alleviate that suffering? Or do people like you want to have the final say?

By the way, there is absolutely no proof we're about to receive "an immunity booster". The only clear boost will be to Big Pharma profits. And please don't use the treatment of soldiers as a comparison. Military personnel are essentially chattel which the government can send to their deaths for any reason they choose ... or for no reason at all. I doubt the rest of the population wants to be treated that way.
