If you recall, following the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing the US placed the entire city of Watertown on lockdown to find a suspect who at the time was a threat to no one (and most likely was merely a patsy). But take note that thousands of potentially virus-infected persons have been allowed to freely enter our country in the past few days.
My point? We have nothing to fear except the fantasies created by our own government. The REAL threats they keep hidden. In light of all the propaganda to which we're subject, I would expect such behavior from China. So why then is it also prevalent in the US?
