According to this report, significant historical omissions in the movie "First Man" are not a political statement:

BS !!!
From what I gather while watching the movie's trailer, it is not only an insult to the people of the US - who paid for and otherwise made possible all manned trips to the moon - it's also an ode to the practice of "man bashing".
Wake up, people. In today's world, a movie does not get a 3 minute standing ovation in Venice unless it champions something like hatred of men, hatred of white people, or hatred of the United States of America.
If you want me to watch crap like this, you'll have to pay me first. And even then I may have better things to do. I watched the first moon landing in real time on my parent's black and white TV. I don't need to see a remake which changes what the original event meant to all of us then.
Buzz Aldrin is offended, too:

Face it - Hollywood hates America more than it loves the rest of the world. Don't accept any of their excuses.
