I watched some of what Joe Biden and McCain's daughter said about him. They both appear to genuinely think he was a saint.
I think the evidence shows otherwise, but you should make up your own mind.

By the way, the US deep state, US corporations, the US school system, and most non-Trumpian government agencies are at war with the concepts of "white privilege" and "toxic masculinity". Why in hell, therefore, are they turning McCain into a saint, when he represents everything they appear to hate about the US? In my view, this lengthy bout of state-sponsored McCain worship is a thinly veiled political attack on Trump and Trumpism. McCain was no champion of liberty, and the US is NOT a democracy. Far from it.
