Channeling Donald Trump, Italy’s new interior minister, Matteo Salvini, has proclaimed a “zero-landing” Mediterranean, where no one fleeing war, persecution, or famine will be allowed to reach Europe by sea.
In defiance of international law, he suddenly (with a tweet) closed Italy’s ports on June 10 to humanitarian rescue ships carrying refugees and migrants saved from drowning, many of them women and children. Since then, Italy’s anti-migrant naval blockade has sent shock waves across Europe.

Then consider this:
- Do the rich, who will not even pay a living wage to their own citizens, really care about the welfare of these migrants? HELL NO !!!
- Would police continue to shoot black people if the rich told them to stop? HELL NO !!!
- Would drugs continue to flood our cities if the rich wanted such trafficking to stop? HELL NO !!!
Those who run this planet (a.k.a. the 0.01%) TRULY don't give a damn about anything other than their interests. When was the last time they invited the poor or the homeless into their mansions? NEVER. The migrant situation wouldn't even exist had it not been for their destruction of Iraq, Libya, Syria, and the nations of Central and South America.
If they don't like Trump, it's because he is a threat to them, not to us. And the same applies to Minister Salvini.
