Facebook Unlikely To Reform

Dozens of employees of the liberal and intolerant social media giant Facebook have decided to unite to challenge the left-wing political bias deeply ingrained in the company. Although the post went up quietly on Facebook’s internal message board last week, it quickly took off inside the social network’s inner sanctum.

Titled “We Have a Problem With Political Diversity,” the post took a shot at Facebook’s intolerant views of differing political opinions. “We are a political monoculture that’s intolerant of different views,” Brian Amerige, a senior Facebook engineer, wrote in the post, which was obtained by The New York Times. “We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack - often in mobs - anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology.”

As long as Zuckerberg and Sandberg are in charge, Facebook is unlikely to reform.

In addition to the apparent obstinacy at the top of the organization, Facebook is saddled with an almost insurmountable obstacle - people who are most likely to be FB employees are the very ones who seem to hate everything conservatives stand for, and who willingly form the "mobs" to which Amerige refers.

Don't agree with me? Show me your proof. And Amerige's letter proves nothing, other than the existence of "dozens of employees" who are willing to speak up ... at least for now. How long do you think it will take FB to get rid of them now that they have identified themselves?

"Trending" is not the same as "supporting", especially when your job is at stake. I have yet to encounter a modern US corporation which runs itself like a democracy. Most CEOs consider disloyalty to be a mortal sin.
