Good op-ed piece in The New York Times:

The real cost of globalization is incalculable, since it includes the destruction of several nation states including our own. Our legacy is PRICELESS, but it is being flushed down the toilet for the enrichment of a few.
By the way, the problem of "cheap Chinese steel" has been around in one form or another ever since the US decided to destroy its own steel industry. I first encountered it as "cheap French steel" purchased by the Lincoln Electric Co. back in the late 60s. For some reason it too was inferior and resulted in the generation of much scrap and cost overruns.
Capitalism is no longer patriotic (if it ever was). The decision to open our borders to competition from everywhere was not forced upon us by outsiders; it was a conscious decision of the ruling class, who became economic traitors for their own enrichment.
Let me be clear: our government and economy are being run by economic traitors. Any "recovery"/"restructuring" they devise will be done on that basis: TREASON to the American people.
