I visited Switzerland a couple of times while I was in the Army in the 70s to see my wife's aunt, who is French Swiss. It seemed to me at the time that the Swiss hated everyone, even other Swiss from one of the other groups (German, French, Italian, or Romansch). I went to a small village to visit my aunt's brother, and although he spoke several languages including English, he only spoke French that night to exclude us from the conversation. My car had Dutch plates, and that sent the entire village into a frenzy. Like Dr. Evil's father, they apparently hate the Dutch, too.
By the way, my aunt said that in her entire life (she was in early 50s) there had not been a single murder in all of Switzerland. I'm sure that has changed since Americans started to visit regularly.
