US becoming a police state

I imagine this is what Germany looked like as it slid into the Nazi abyss.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Yep, He was right. Perhaps it was inevitable that we would eat from that tree, but why do we seemed doomed to do it over and over again?
