Thanks to the foolish actions of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, children in Chicago now have to pass through gang neighborhoods where they are not wanted. This has necessitated a "safe passage" program to get them to their "prison-schools":

Does this not remind you of what we are doing in Afghanistan: forcing children to go to schools that the local population does not want?
How is this government of, by, and for the people? Sounds more to me like "do what the government wants, or else".
America has become the land of coercion. And because of this, we shall fail. No one in the world wants this crap, and we truly are turning the world, even our own part of it, into our enemy.
