A more elegant proof of a post-tribulation rapture can be found in the Olivet Prophecy:
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Matthew 24:21-22 KJV
If the days of the great tribulation shall be shortened "for the elect's sake", that implies they will not be raptured prior to the tribulation. And if even the elect are to be present on the earth during the tribulation, so will everyone else.
This does not mean that all will suffer. Some will be sealed in their foreheads and apparently spared the worst of the punishments:
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Revelation 7:2-3 KJV
But clearly the rapture itself will occur at the final trumpet ... AFTER the tribulation. Just as Paul wrote:
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 KJV
