Sovereign citizens

I do not recommend that anyone do this, but it's an interesting tactic:

This article in The New York Times calls sovereign citizens "anti-government". (OMG, that's almost as bad as calling them "terrorists", isn't it?)

Weren't the Founders of America "anti-government"? That's what I learned in school ... long, long ago.

However, it is just as realistic to say that government is "anti-sovereign citizen", and THAT is a MUCH bigger problem. By taking away your sovereignty at birth (is anyone ever given a chance to assert it before it is stolen?), government turns you into a slave of the state.

I have no problem with people who choose to try to reassert their sovereignty. Unfortunately, for most who try it's a losing battle; mainly because their fellow slaves really don't give a damn. It's much easier to treat dissent as mental illness or crime than it is to give everyone the right to live the way they want.
