This is LONG overdue, but I'm not sure it would do any good. Memories fade, witnesses die, and evidence is lost or destroyed. And without the ability to COMPEL testimony, such a committee would get nowhere. Government officials have been lying under oath for quite some time, and none were punished. What would give them an incentive to tell the truth now?
In any event, should such a committee come to pass I'd like to suggest they add 9/11 to the list of things to investigate. Unless ALL the crimes of the high and mighty are uncovered, this republic simply cannot thrive.
