We all directly or indirectly worship (or at least venerate) the concept of "liberty" which is embodied in this famous idol.
Is the so-called "Statue of Liberty" an idol of liberty or of licentiousness, or does it represent something else altogether?
Consider these words carefully:
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Revelation 13:15 KJV
We in the US have breathed life into the very concept of "liberty", given it a blasphemous voice, and unleashed it into the world to destroy all those who will not bow down to its demands.
And whether or not we acknowledge that fact, this seems to be the one thing left of our common identity - our unquenchable thirst for "liberty", and our vicious lashing out at anyone who disagrees with what we want to do.
