A Question About Columbus Day

According to this report, several US cities no longer celebrate "Columbus Day":

I guess I can understand the "logic" here, but this rewriting of history brings up several questions, like this one:

Q: If we're no longer going to celebrate the so-called European invasion of the Americas, why are we celebrating the on-going invasion of the US by the peoples of Mexico and Central and South America?

A: Because the people in charge (who are mostly ultra-rich descendants of those aforementioned European invaders) are going to do to us what their ancestors did to the indigenous peoples of the Americas - enslave us, or slaughter us if we fight back. That is what they have done to EVERY country they or their proxies invaded.
