Baseless Conspiracy Theories

According to The New York Times, Alex Jones has had a "career built on baseless conspiracy theories":

Really? One could make a similar claim about our government's conspiracy theories:
  • There never was a "missile gap" in the 60s;
  • Oswald did not shoot JFK;
  • North Vietnam did not attack the USS Turner Joy in the Gulf of Tonkin incident;
  • Saddam Hussein did not have WMDs;
  • The WTC towers did not disintegrate from the plane strikes or the fires; and
  • Russia did not hack our 2016 elections.

Most of us believe nonsense which we easily could disprove with the facts readily available to each of us, but for some reason we continue to believe the lies we are told. Alex Jones may be hard for some to swallow, but I am not aware that his theories ever got anyone killed. The real danger here is our government's baseless conspiracy theories, many of which DO get people killed.
