Funny (as in strange) ... why isn't the US worried about the poverty of its own people?
And this is NOT a Democrat vs. Republican issue. None of "our" politicians really give a damn.
Maybe what we need is blue helmets patrolling our streets and Cuban doctors tending to our sick and infirm. I'd be OK with that if it would really help.
