The latest anti-Russian hysteria involves bizarre claims they will cut our undersea cables:

As a former submariner, I can state that such a thing is technically feasible.
But you have to find them first, get deep enough to reach them, and have cable cutters mounted outside the sub [or send out drones or human swimmers to accomplish the snip].
Bottom line - it ain't easy, and I would be willing to bet that Russian capabilities in this regard are FAR inferior to those of the US. They couldn't even get down to the Kursk; how they hell are they gonna find our cables?
