The Seven Trumps

In the Book of Revelation (Chapters 8-11), there are seven trumpets (or trumps):

#1 * The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

#2 * And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

#3 * And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

#4 * And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

#5 * And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. [more]

#6 * And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. [more]

#7 * And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. [more]

Note: The above quotes are from the King James translation of the Bible.

Which (if any) do you think Donald Trump represents?

I interpret these prophecies to be describing the aftermath of a global thermonuclear war. And President Trump definitely appears to be taking us in that direction.

By the way, here is my interpretation of the phrase "I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth":

At the time that Bible verse was written, the star being described is what we today would call a meteor. But in our time, the star being described is a nuclear weapon (H-bomb). Among other things, Robert Oppenheimer (the so-called "father of the atomic bomb") was an astrophysicist.

Nuclear weapons were created for the purpose of opening the bottomless pit. Can you think of any other useful purpose they might serve?

Here are two previous posts in which I discussed this issue:

We are rushing toward Armageddon with the twin mistaken beliefs there is no G-d and the Bible is meaningless. This will be our undoing.

G-d keeps His promises, and we would be wise to heed His warnings. Nothing good can come from our meddling in the Middle East.
