However, when people symbolically hammered on nuclear weapons which could be used to kill all of humanity, they went to jail:

And when other people recently trespassed in protest on a facility used to make nuclear weapons, they also went to jail:

Which is the most likely rationale for the difference?
- Do most people think more of their dogs and cats than they do of their fellow human beings, or even of themselves?
- Are people scared of nuclear weapons, but less scared of pet gas chambers?
- Are we basically cowards who maybe wear crosses, but don't want to do anything which would get us nailed to those crosses?
Don't do anything you'll regret later.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
Mark 10:21-22 KJV
