Why the CIA started to use drones

Here's a New York Times article about why the CIA started to use drones in Pakistan:

If I'm reading this right, they were so concerned about complaints they were torturing and killing the innocent people they kidnapped and sent to CIA dungeons, they decided to just kill them in their homes instead.

Way to go, CIA! Now you don't have to listen to all those annoying screams from the cells and torture chambers any more. I'm sure they distracted you from your web surfing and video games.

By the way, there's an illuminating book you should read entitled Backing Hitler: Consent and Coercion in Nazi Germany by Robert Gellately, in which the author documents how the Nazis used to commit the same sort of atrocities and then boast about them in public (e.g., in their newspapers).

America, you're going down the same dark sorry road.
