The mother of a childhood friend of mine died because she refused on religious grounds a transfusion which might have saved her life. At least that's what I remember.
Should people be allowed to make such decisions for themselves? I think they should.
Should they be allowed to make such decisions for their children? Not if the children belong to the state.
