Loose Use Of Nukes

Here is a report about the UK's deployment of nuclear weapons during the Falklands War:

https://declassifieduk.org/uk-deployed-31-nuclear-weapons-during-falklands-war/

Considering the fact that Argentina was and is in no way a nuclear threat, does it make any sense the UK would deploy nukes in such a conflict?

Keep in mind that several countries have nukes deployed at sea, in the air, and on the ground ALL THE TIME. The real danger (in my view) is that the willingness to use them could lead to a rapid unnecessary escalation in just about any conflict for just about any reason.

The only way to stop this is for the public to demand it. And sadly the public is asleep most of the time.
