In spite of how the subject is portrayed in the report, this is not a new initiative. The so-called Club of Rome discussed a version of it in their 1972 book The Limits to Growth. It is a bit surprising it took so long to move it to the front burner, so to speak.

Remember the scene in Dr. Zhivago where he comes home to discover a mob of poor people living in his family's former apartment? Something like that will be an essential feature of the "you'll own nothing and you'll be happy" economy.
The rich of course will continue to own their own homes. And probably your former home, too.
Are you happy now, or are you waiting until they steal all your property?
Dumb question - Tell me again why we fought the Cold War? Was it to defeat communism, or to embrace it?
