The Cost Of A Gunshot Wound

My wife and I have been watching reruns of the TV series "ER", which frequently portrays the immediate aftermath of gun violence in Chicago.

Here is a report about what that violence costs, which can be as high as $21,000 for the first 35 minutes of care (i.e., while in the ER):

Mayor Rahm Emanuel's brother Ezekiel is one of the architects of "ObamaDon'tCare". One of the unintended (?) consequences of that program is that We The People have to pay so that other people can shoot each other and then get "free" medical treatment.

Rahm's other brother Ari is a "talent agent" who makes a great living by helping Hollywood produce the garbage which encourages US youth to shoot each other.

How is it possible that a single family can profit from apparently contributing to so much damage, and yet be considered "respectable"? Does that make sense to you?
